On September 8, 2020, the International Eurasian Press Foundation (IEPF) selected Professor Oh Eun-gyeong, head of the Eurasian Turk Research Institute of the University, as the recipient of the "Cultural Ambassador" award.
The foundation announced the reason for the selection that the contribution to academic development and cultural dissemination through Turkic studies was greatly recognized. Prof. Eun-kyung Oh, who is fluent in Turkic languages such as Turkish, Azerbaijani, and Uzbek, has published over 150 papers and over 40 low translation books (including co-authored) in various languages in the field of Turkic Studies.
Professor Eun-kyung Oh has made great contributions to cultural exchanges and social contributions as well as the academic field of Turkic studies, and is the fourth winner after American Uzer Novruzov, who holds the Guinness Book of Records.
Professor Tae-jin Ko, director of the Special Foreign Language Education Promotion Agency said, "The students' response to the Turkish and Uzbek classes opened for students of Dongduk Women's University this semester was higher than other universities."
